Before you sign up
Who will actually be looking after my site?
I will, personally. I’ve been designing for over 20 years and freelance since 2012, so you know it’s in good hands, and I never outsource anything.
Can I still update or work on my website?
Of course, you’re still 100% in control. It’s a good idea to let me know when you’re working on it, just in case we end up working on the same thing at the same time.
How do you take payments?
All major credit cards are accepted, safely and securely, via Stripe. PayPal recurring payments can also be arranged if you’d prefer. Unfortunately I can’t accept cash or cheques.
My website is currently broken. Will a care package fix it?
If your website is currently broken, it’s advisable to contact me and pre-book an hour’s work (£20) so I can look through it and diagnose the issue. If it’s a terminal error, a care package won’t help and you’ll need a new website, but that’s the worst case scenario.
Am I locked into a contract?
You certainly aren’t. But as soon as payment is cancelled the work stops, so all maintenance, SEO and security updates stop too, and your website will fall into disrepute before too long.
Do you have set work hours?
Being a freelancer I work normal office hours, but I’m also available outside of them.
What if my care package doesn’t cover the work needed?
If there’s a big issue that can’t be rectified in the time allocated to your package, I’ll tell you. Additional work is billed at £20 an hour. If it’s not critical, i.e. your site still works, I can use your monthly available time and work on it until it’s fixed.
Would my site be hosted with you?
I offer top-spec, lightning-fast managed WordPress hosting, among other types of hosting. If you’re paying too much for hosting that’s not very good, I’ll suggest you move your website. Take a look at my hosting.
Do you offer a discount?
Yes. If you have multiple websites with me, or you’re a referral, I always offer some form of discount.
Someone else designed my website. Can you still look after it?
It doesn’t matter who made your website or where it’s hosted, so long as it’s built with WordPress. Once I log in and run the necessary checks I can advise you on whether you should switch hosting.
